Polyamide (PA, Nylon)
Structural formula [NH(CH2)m NHCO(CH2)n-2CO]
Properties Crystalline thermoplastic plastic with obvious melting point. Nylon6 Tm is 220~230℃, Nylon66 is 260~270℃. Nylon itself has a water-absorbing base so it is water-absorbent. It must be dried before forming. If the temperature is too high, the nylon particles will change color.
Advantages 1. High tensile strength
2. Excellent toughness and impact resistance
3. Self-lubricating, good abrasion resistance, and good chemical resistance
4. Good low temperature characteristics
5. Self-extinguishing
Disadvantages: Nylon has high hygroscopicity, long-term dimensional precision and physical properties are affected.
Purpose Electronic appliances: connectors, spools, timers, cover circuit breakers, switch housings
Automobile: cooling fan, door handle, fuel tank cover, air intake grille, water tank cover, lamp holder
Industrial parts: chair seat, bicycle transmission frame, skate base, textile shuttle, pedal, sliding transmission
Polyacetal (POM)
Properties: It is a crystalline thermoplastic plastic with an obvious melting point of 165~175°C. Its properties are closest to metals. It is generally called plastic steel.
Advantages 1. High mechanical strength and rigidity
2. The highest fatigue strength
3. Good environmental resistance and organic solvent resistance
4. Strong resistance to repeated impact
5. Wide operating temperature range (-40℃~120℃)
6. Good electrical properties
7. Good recovery
8. With self-lubricity and good wear resistance
9. Excellent size stability
Disadvantages 1. If the processing process is prolonged under high temperature for a long time, it is easy to thermally decompose
2. No self-extinguishing
3. Poor acid resistance
4. Large forming shrinkage
Uses Electronic appliances: washing machine, juicer parts, timer components
Automobile: Handlebar parts, power window parts
Industrial parts: mechanical parts, gears, handles, toys, screws
